English & literature 9

The objective of this course is to teach students English Grade 9, using high complexity texts and the study of the language integrated in the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. All in all, addressing topics related to university preparation.

General comments

The content includes the following points:

  • Active and explicit reading of different texts, also adding logical inferences which can be extracted
  • Analysis of literature and informative texts of different literary periods in order to review:
    • Literary elements
    • Arguments and claims supported by textual evidences
    • Power and impact in the language
    • History influence and culture of language
  • Several purposes writing:
    • Developing and supporting argumentative claims
    • Developing coherent texts.
    • Literary answers with personal and analytic goals
    • Narrative writing to develop real or imaginative events
  • Effective listening, speaking and looking for strategies which highlight the use of tests to support or refuse allegations on multimedia presentations, classroom debates and widespread texts
